LRA Says Revenue Collection Surpasses 2024 Target

Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) Commissioner General, James Dorbor Jallah, has boasted of a high revenue collection over the year.

Jallah praised the working of the entity, specifically, the collection of collecting “every cent owes the state.”

At the official launch of government’s new town hall initiative, ‘Kapa Kulono’ a Kpelle phrase meaning” “Come Let’s Talk It,” Mr. Jallah proudly revealed that the LRA had exceeded its 2024 revenue collection target.

Against a projected goal of US$693 million, the LRA brought in over US$700 million, outperforming expectations by US$8 million.

“We’re not playing,” Jallah said, noting: “This is about national development, and we are determined to do even more.”

The LRA is setting its sights on an ambitious US$804 million target for 2025, but according to Jallah, “the goal is not just to meet it, but to beat it once again.”

With 90 percent of the country’s national budget funded through domestic revenue, Jallah called on all Liberians to step up and pay their taxes.

“If we want roads, schools, hospitals, we must all contribute,” he added.
