The leadership of Liberia Petroleum Refinery Company (LPRC), has boosted the work of the Harper City Corporation (HCC) in Maryland County.

The entity strengthened public sanitation efforts in the county with the donation of essential working tools to HCC.

The donated items, included one tricycle, 10 wheelbarrows, 20 shovels, and 30 cutlasses.

The items are expected to significantly support the city waste management, and environmental hygiene activities.

The presentation was made during a brief ceremony attended by Harper City Mayor, Abraham B. Jackson, and representatives from the LPRC.

Mayor Jackson, who received the items, expressed profound appreciation to the management of LPRC.

He described the entity’s gesture as “timely, impactful, and essential to improve the overall cleanliness of the city.”

Jackson assured that the tools will be used strictly for their intended purpose.

He recalled the city continues to face challenges in waste disposal, and urban sanitation.

Jackson further highlighted the critical importance of the donation, as the county prepares to welcome hundreds of its residents returning from the diaspora for the festive season.

The county will also be playing host to the 2025/2026 National County Sports Meet. With increased movement, social activities, and large gatherings expected, Mayor Jackson hopes the city would be in the best hygienic condition to give visitors a positive impression, and ensure public safety.

With this latest development, the LPRC intervention is expected to significantly boost cleanup efforts and enhance environmental health across Harper.
