LNP Refutes Morlu Allegations

The Liberia National Police (LNP) has categorically refuted what it called “the baseless and inflammatory allegations” made by Mr. Mulbah K. Morlu Jr. regarding Deputy Inspector General of Police for Operations, Cllr. J. Nelson Freeman. The claims, suggesting that DIGP Cllr. Freeman threatened to “hit and kill bike riders,” are not only false but also deeply irresponsible, the LNP has noted.

The LNP said it remains steadfast in upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, including bike and Keke riders. “Cllr. Freeman has consistently demonstrated professionalism and dedication to fostering peace and order in our communities. Any suggestion to the contrary is a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation and undermine the integrity of the LNP.” An LNP release said.

“We urge the public to exercise caution and verify information before accepting or spreading unsubstantiated claims. The LNP is a professional institution that values the rights and dignity of every Liberian. We remain steadfast in our mission to serve and protect, and we will not be distracted by unfounded accusations.

Furthermore, we call on all citizens, including bike and Keke riders, to remain calm and law-abiding as the judicial process unfolds. The LNP respects the authority of the Supreme Court and will continue to cooperate fully with all legal proceedings.

The Liberia National Police is committed to transparency and accountability. We encourage anyone with credible evidence of misconduct to come forward through the appropriate channels. Let us work together to build a safer and more united Liberia,” the release indicated.
