The Liberia National Police (LNP) has sharply refuted any association with an individual depicted in a trending video on social media, wearing a reflective jacket and falsely presenting himself as a police officer.
This individual, identified as Mr. Abednego Senglooh, a 51-year-old resident of Paynesville Redlight Market, has been thoroughly investigated, formally charged & forwarded to court for impersonating an official.
The evidence obtained, including video footage showing Mr. Senglooh counting money believed to have been extorted from motorists in the Zone 9 Depot 2, Redlight Market area, has been corroborated during his interview, where he admitted to these actions.
Mr. Senglooh faces charges under Section 12.35 of the Revised Penal Law of Liberia.
The LNP categorically emphasized that Mr. Senglooh is not affiliated with the Liberia National Police in any capacity. His actions are said to be reprehensible and undermine public trust in lawful institutions. The Liberia National Police remains resolute in its commitment to holding individuals accountable and safeguarding the integrity of its operations.
The Liberia National Police urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals who may attempt to impersonate law enforcement officers. The public’s cooperation is critical in maintaining peace, security, and trust in our police force.
