Liberia Land Authority (LLA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) have reinforced their collaboration.
The exercise is to enhance land governance and service delivery.
It is part of a renewed push to secure land rights and promote inclusive national development.
LLA Chairman, Samuel F. Kpakio, led the efforts to mobilize increased funding and strategic partnerships.
The partnership is to strengthen the Authority’s operations in all 15 counties.
Kpakio’s initiative is focused on accelerating customary land formalization, improve institutional efficiency, and expand access to land ownership, particularly for rural and underserved populations.
During a high-level engagement with UNDP Resident Representative, Aliuo Dia, Mr. Kpakio underscored the importance of sustained international support in transforming the land sector.
He acknowledged UNDP’s longstanding contributions, noting that the partnership has played a vital role in advancing LLA’s mandate, and delivering tangible benefits to communities.
“The LLA remains grateful to the UNDP family for their continued support.”
Kpakio recommitted the Authority to deepening collaboration that would achieve national development goals.
Mr. Dia welcomed the LLA delegation and reiterated UNDP’s readiness to support Liberia’s land reform agenda.
He described the land sector as a critical pillar of the country’s development framework.
The engagement included discussions on unlocking new funding streams to enhance LLA’s operational capacity and extend its reach nationwide.
Members of the LLA delegation expressed optimism that the strengthened partnership will deliver transformative outcomes.
