The Liberia Land Authority (LLA), under the leadership of the Chairman, Samuel F. Kpakio, has embarked on a six-county tour.
The six-county tour, which commenced on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, aimed at strengthening land governance and administration across the country.
Mr. Kpakio will, meanwhile, be joined by a team of technical experts as he visits Nimba, Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Maryland, Grand Kru, and Sinoe counties.
The tour seeks to engage local stakeholders, foster inter-agency collaboration, and identify key challenges affecting land governance and administration.
The LLA delegation, during the tour, will hold meetings with county superintendents, district commissioners, city mayors, circuit court officials, traditional leaders and LLA county staffs.
The team will focus its discussion on improving coordination among institutions, ensuring policy compliance, and offering technical guidance on land dispute resolutions.
Additionally, the visit will feature assessments of LLA county offices, review the status of public and government-owned lands and distribute educational materials and policy documents to enhance public awareness of land rights and governance.
A key highlight of the tour will be a rapid assessment meeting with stakeholders in Grand Gedeh County, where the team will address growing concerns over the alleged occupation of customary land.
The presence of the Burkinabes have reportedly created a situation that has sparked tensions and raised questions about land tenure security in the area.
The LLA is meanwhile urging the public to stay informed through its official website, Facebook page, the Liberia Broadcasting System (ELBC), and other national media outlets.
The LLA continues to position itself as the country’s “One-Stop-Shop” for all land-related transactions. This made the entity to commit to transparency and efficient land administration.
