The Director General of the Liberia Standards Authority (LiSA), Stephen Mambu, has unveiled a five-year vision plan to position the entity as a competent national standardize organization that meet the needs of the country.
Mambu spoke of the need to implement viable and sustainable assessment services.
During an internal awareness meeting held on Monday, September 1, 2025, Mambu said that by 2029, LiSA will be a fully established and highly capable institution.
Mambu’s vision is for LiSA to meet country’s standardization needs by providing sustainable conformity assessment services to enhance the competitiveness of local industries and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The idea is to facilitate trade, and ensure the health and safety of citizens, all of which are vital to driving national socio-economic growth and development.
To achieve this vision, Mambu has introduced an eight-point strategic plan, which includes: Institutional direction; provides strong leadership to drive the growth and development of LiSA; ensuring alignment with the Standards Act, national and regional quality policies, and the ARREST Agenda.
“This strategic plan will not only strengthen LiSA’s institutional capacity, but also help Liberia meet international quality standards, improve trade competitiveness, and create opportunities for economic growth,” Mambu said.
