The Liberty Party (LP) is gearing up to commemorate its 20th anniversary on May 19, 2025, marking two decades of active participation in the country’s democratic process.
Operating under the theme: “Liberty Party: 20 Years of Democratic Legacy to Cherish,” the party will reflect on its achievements while reaffirming its commitment to promoting good governance, transparency, and the rule of law.
The Party, led by its political leader, Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, expressed deep gratitude to its founding father, the late Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for the Party’s enduring impact on the nation’s political landscape.
In a statement signed by Secretary General Martin Saye Kollah, the Party acknowledged the sacrifices of its founders, emphasizing their dedication to fostering a political philosophy rooted in justice, equality, and opportunity for all Liberians.
“The sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering dedication of our forebears have instilled in us a compassionate political philosophy – one that champions equal opportunities for all Liberians,” the statement read.
Since its inception, the Liberty Party has been a vocal advocate for democratic reforms, pushing for transparency, anti-corruption measures, and policies aimed at improving the lives of ordinary citizens. The Party’s leadership reaffirmed its commitment to building a more inclusive and rights-focused society, emphasizing the importance of national unity and collective action.
As part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations, the Party has outlined a series of commemorative events to honor its legacy and future aspirations for a reformed and inclusive Liberia.
“The Liberty Party remains steadfast in its belief that the country’s brightest days lie ahead, achievable through collective action guided by national interest rather than personal ambition.”
