LDEA Releases Woman Arrested With ‘Huge Kush Consignment’

In the wake of the dismissal of presidential appointees, sources at the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) have confirmed to DN News Liberia the release of the woman arrested on August 20 with a huge consignment of Sparke and Die Kush.

The raid in the Kendenja Community led to the confiscation of a large quantity of narcotics along with L$288,800 in cash. Three women were arrested during the operation, which was led by LDEA’s Chief of Manpower and Raid, Aaron Karzon (U-711).

Karzon is just an “Action Agent” with the LDEA, a source confirmed.

Unlike other suspects, DN News observed that the woman arrest was never publicized on the LDEA official Facebook page. She was never formally arraigned or charged.

The woman, described by sources as a notorious drug lord, was released with little or no explanation from the LDEA about her charges or case status.

This is the second time the LDEA has arrested her, and released without a proper identity or prosecution, sources revealed!

This unusual handling of the case has fueled public interest, especially as the fight against illicit drugs continues to be one of Liberia’s biggest challenges, with many young people falling victim to addiction.

As of press time last night by 11, the LDEA has not provided clarification on why the suspect was released or whether the case remains under investigation.

Meanwhile, President Joseph Boakai has dismissed the entire senior management team at the LDEA and appointed an interim management Team.
