LDEA Partners With AU Trading Company

The Director General of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Anthony K. Souh, officially received Pastor Jimmy Phillips, and his delegation from the African Union Trading Company, Inc. at the agency headquarters.

The visit, the LDEA release said, marks a significant step forward in a collaborative effort to combat drug-related offences and promote transparency and accountability.

In a show of support for the LDEA’s ongoing efforts to maintain integrity and enhance operational standards, the African Union Trading Company, Inc. donated essential drugs testing equipment to the agency.

The donated items included breath analyzers/alcohol test kits, which will be instrumental in routine officer evaluations and field operations.

Meanwhile, the agency “no-none-sense,” director, according to the release, has expressed thankfulness for the timely and thoughtful contribution.

Mr. Souh emphasized the importance of inter-agency and community partnerships in achieving national security goals.

“We welcome this partnership and commend Pastor Jimmy Phillips and his team for their support, said Mr. Souh, adding: The LDEA remains committed to professionalism, and these test kits will serve as a valuable resource in reinforcing discipline, accountability, and public trust in our operations.”

Pastor Phillips, then reaffirmed his organization’s dedication to supporting the country’s law enforcement institutions in the fight against drugs and substance abuse.

Philips highlighted the critical role of faith-based and civil society organizations in national development.

“This partnership is part of a broader initiative by the LDEA to strengthen institutional capacity and ensure officers adhere to the highest ethical and operational standards as they carry out their mandate to protect and serve the Liberian people,” the Pastor said.
