The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), through its River Gee County Detachment, has arrested a 30-year-old Nigerian national, KC Okonkwo, in connection with illegal drug possession.
Okonkwo’s arrest, according to the agency, was at the Combat Gates (checkpoint) in River Gee County.
During the operation, the release said, officers discovered 105.9 grams of heroin and 101 grams of precursors concealed inside an old television set wrapped in black plastic, which the suspect was carrying with him.
The estimated street value of the seized substances is approximately US$3,660 or L$695,400,000.
Suspect KC Okonkwo is currently undergoing investigation at the LDEA headquarters in Fish Town. Thereafter, he will be forwarded to court following the conclusion of the preliminary investigation.
