LDEA Arrests ‘Kush Seller’ In Sinoe …Makes Drug Bust In Bomi

Agents of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) on April 27, 2025, arrested Kofi Boyee, a 20-year-old Liberian citizen for illegally possessing a controlled substance (Kush) in Kwatatuzon, Sinoe County.

The arrest took place at about 11:45 a.m. at the Kwatatuzon checkpoint. Boyee was found with 23 grams of Kush, a dangerous narcotic substance.

 The estimated street value of the drugs is US$460 or L$87,400.

Following a thorough investigation, the suspect was charged in line with the country’s drug laws and has, meanwhile been forwarded to court for prosecution.

The LDEA reaffirms its commitment to combating drug trafficking and abuse across the country.

Bomi County

In a related development, the agency said it has executed a court ordered thus leading to a drug bust in Bomi County, western Liberia.

LDEA has arrested one Daniel B. Johnson, a 48-year-old Liberian, following a court-sanctioned search operation carried out in Gbongor Village, a small settlement in the county.

Acting on a search warrant issued by the Tubmanburg Magisterial Court, LDEA officers conducted the arrest on Saturday, April 26, around 7: a.m. at the suspect’s residence in the village.

Johnson was found possessing illegal substances, including 3.3 plates of raw marijuana, valued at US$325 or L$61,750 and six straps of tramadol, valued at US$60 or L$11,400

The suspect has been formally charged and forwarded to court for prosecution in accordance with Liberian law.

The LDEA said it remains committed to her mission of removing illegal drugs from communities and ensuring justice is served.
