LCAA Launches Awareness Week 2025 By Godgift Harris

The Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA) has announced the official launch of Aviation Awareness Week 2025, a nationwide initiative aimed at highlighting the vital role aviation plays in the country’s development and economic progress.

CAA Director General John D. Dennis spoke at the Ministry of Information regular press briefing on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

He said the event will run from May 5 to May 9, 2025, under the theme: “Building the Future of Flight in Liberia.”

The week-long event will feature a robust lineup of activities including school outreach programs, public seminars and interactive workshops.

Also, there will be industry engagement sessions all designed to connect the Liberian public with the aviation sector and spark national interest in its opportunities.

“This campaign is about opening the skies of opportunity for our young people and reinforcing the importance of a strong aviation industry to the country’s socio-economic growth,” Mr. Dennis said.

Key partners in the initiative include the Liberia Airport Authority (LAA), the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and the Roberts Flight Information Region (RFIR).

These institutions will host informative sessions to educate the public on aviation safety, operations and career pathways in the sector.

Interactive workshops led by seasoned aviation professionals will offer participants hands-on experience in various aspects of the field, while school outreach teams will visit educational institutions across Monrovia to inspire future pilots, engineers, and aviation experts.

In addition, the LCAA will conduct public awareness campaigns to improve understanding of air travel safety, aviation regulations, and the industry’s broader impact on national development.

The week will also include industry engagement forums, bringing together aviation stakeholders to exchange ideas, explore innovations, and outline the future of air transport in Liberia.

“Aviation Awareness Week is not just a celebration it’s an invitation for every Liberian to see themselves as part of the country’s aviation future,” an LCAA official said.

The main events will be held at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town where the public is encouraged to follow LCAA’s official communication channels for updates on the schedule and venues.
