Some citizens of Karbor chiefdom in Sanquim Statutory District, Sinoe County have threatened to filed a lawsuit against the people of Tarsue, for what they termed as ‘creating land dispute’ in the district.
Making the disclosure to this pepper recently in Monrovia, a prominent son of Karbor, Clayton G. Tarpeh asserted that it was wrong for the Tarsue People to have signed an agreement with the two companies operating in the district without their participation, despite the signing of several resolutions that called for both towns to benefit from those agreements equally.
He said during the past years, the two groups smoked a peace pipe but it was surprising to see the same people at loggerhead again due to the other group not wanting its neighbor to benefit from the companies operating in the area.
According to him, the Karbor People are not interested in causing any form of confusion, but to see the district and its people lives transformed through an honest and legitimate process, stating that the two companies currently operating in the district are Liberia National Palm Industries (LNPI) and Jartuken.
He said what he wants is a total development in the area of health, education as well other activities that will give a facelift to the area, and not things that will hinder the progress of the people as being perceived by the Tarsue people.
Tarpeh further disclosed that the Chairman of the Karbor Chiefdom, Patrick Wesseh, said in order to bring this longstanding dispute to an end, they will seek legal redress against the Tarsue people, something he said will eventually settle the matter.
