The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission has disclosed that at least 26 indicted Corruption cases will be prosecuted this year over multiple charges involving acts of corruption, mal-practices and administrative errors across the country.
LACC Chairperson Alexandria Zoe said her institution will surely focus on the prosecution of these cases against individuals that have been indicted on charges of multiple crimes committed since the beginning of 2024.
Making the disclosure Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism regular press briefing, Commissioner Zoe said issues regarding the delay for prosecuting cases from the LACC were due to too many cases allotted to a particular court term.
The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission official said the objective of her institution is to ensure Liberians have the right to understand government effort on the fight against corruption and ensure these actions are demonstrated in line with the laws of the republic.
According to her, about 5 institutions have been audited in 2025 why 21 were audited in 2024 and found guilty of multiple malpractices, assuring the public that the LACC will surely focus on prosecuting all those cases before the end of the year.
At the same time, Commissioner Zoe has also disclosed that at least over 100 public officials from both Montserrado and rural part of Liberia have refused to declare their assets as prescribed by President Joseph N. Boakai, in early 2025.
According to her, NASSCORP, LEC, NPA and some officials of the Legislature including local officials at the local government level across the 15 counties have refused to honor the president’s mandate that instructs them to declare their assets upon their appointment to public offices.
The LACC Chairperson has promised to publish the remaining names of the noncompliance officials at the end of June 2025.
