LACC Threatens Salaries’ Seizure -For Non-Assets Declaration Compliant Officials

In a regular press briefing on Thursday in Monrovia, Cllr. Alexandria Zoe, Executive Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), announced that the LACC is considering suspending and withholding the salaries of 892 government officials who have failed to declare their assets. Cllr. Zoe stated that this measure aims to ensure that public officials adhere to the rule of law. Cllr. Zoe reported that out of 1,900 government employees required to declare their assets, only 1,800 have complied, representing 53% of those obligated. She praised the three branches of the Liberian government for their support and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of collective effort for the country’s growth and development. Additionally, Cllr. Zoe assured the public of the LACC’s ongoing commitment to combating corruption within the public sector.
