The attention of the Civil Society Network of Liberia (CSNL) is critically drawn to the case between Mr. Lassana Kromah and Velma T. Kromah regarding a divorce case involving the couple. In as much as it is before the body responsible to intervene and rule in the divorce case, as watchdogs of the Society, the CSNL wants to provide position on the proceedings of the couple that has the propensity to set a wrong precedent for the Liberian Society. Having followed the case and analyzed the proceedings, the Civil Society Network of Liberia wants to firstly establish that Mrs. Velma Togba Kromah and Mr. Lassana Kromah got traditionally married on May 25, 2013 with certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is unfortunate to state that Mrs. Velma Togba Kromah caused so much psychological and emotional pains for her husband, Mr. Lassana Kromah by engaging into extra marital affairs without remorse. Information in the possession of the CSNL shows how Mrs. Velma T. Kromah, who is in the employ of the National Port Authority (NPA) was clearly caught in having sexual intercourse with another man, which is contrary to her marital vows. Based on her immoral and adulterous act, Mr. Lassana took a divorce case at the Ministry of Internal Affairs where the marriage was consummated, something Mrs. Velma T. Kromah has failed to adhered to. The Civil Society Network of Liberia wants to make it clear that per the information in our possession, Mrs. Velma T. Kromah, in misrepresentation to the norms that govern traditional marriage took flight to the Monrovia City Court. While the Ministry of Internal Affairs is investigating the divorce case filed by Mr. Lassana Kromah, Mrs. Velma T. Kromah filed a case at the Monrovia City Court against her husband on bigamy and polygamy. The case in which Mrs. Velma T. Kromah alleges that Mr. Lassana Kromah contracted another relationship at the Monrovia City was dismissed by the Stependiary Judge on grounds that traditional marriage allows Mr. Lassana Kromah to get one or two additional wives. This is a futile attempt by Mrs. Velma Kromah because the matrimony commitment she made yesterday has been violated and defiled. We want to indicate that while at the Minisry of internal affairs, Mrs. Velma T Kromah went to Paynesville Magisterial court to file for support, and of harassment of Mr. Lassana Kromah, because he has their two children living with him. To stop being harassed by Mrs. Kromah while the divorce case is being heard at Internal Affairs, Mr. Lassana Kromah has filed a harassment case against Mrs. Velma Togba Kromah at the Paynesville Magisterial Court.
The Civil Society Network of Liberia calls on Mrs. Velma T. Kromah to stop harassing Mr. Lassana Kromah as we have been informed. It is hurtful and disingenuous for Mrs. Velma T. Kromah who was caught in violating her marital vows to be harassing Mr. Lassana for marrital support above his income. Instead of expressing remorse for her immoral and adulterous action, Mrs. Velma T. Kromah has been harassing Mr. Lassana Kromah at his office and home for support. This is despicable and ridiculous. We call on Mrs. Velma T. Kromah to wait on the decision of the divorce case at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and stop manipulating into actions that keeps bringing psychological and emotional pains to Mr. Lassana Kromah; who deserves peace and comfort. As such, a true resolution to the divorce case is the best alternative to the resolution of the dissolution of the marriage since Mrs. Velma T. Kromah has violated the marital vows. In conclusion, the Civil Society Network of Liberia calls on the Ministry of Internal Affairs to speedily rule in the divorce case filed by Mr. Lassana Kromah, which will lay to rest the unwarranted and undue harassment from Mrs. Velma Togba against Mr. Lassana Kromah.
