Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung has expressed appreciation for Senator Prince Yormie Johnson’s substantial investments in education and various development initiatives in Nimba County. During the naming ceremony of the PYJ Polytechnic University Hall, which honored former Togolese President Gnassingbè Eyadèma, VP Koung acknowledged Senator Johnson’s remarkable contributions to both Nimba County and Liberia as a whole. The Vice President emphasized that Senator Johnson, one of the longest-serving senators from Nimba, has made significant investments that demonstrate his commitment to creating a lasting legacy for future generations. In support of this mission, VP Koung pledged 20 scholarships for at-risk students facing financial challenges, along with a donation of US$1,000. He requested that the tuition calculations for these students be sent to his office to facilitate the payment of their outstanding fees at PYJ University in Ganta, Nimba County. VP Koung also highlighted that Senator Johnson’s impact extends beyond education, noting his significant contributions as General Overseer of the Christ Chapel of Faith Church. Additionally, during the event, VP Koung praised current Togolese President Faure Gnassingbè for his ongoing partnership with Liberia in promoting peace throughout the sub-region. He acknowledged President Gnassingbè’s respect for Liberia, particularly in light of their recent collaboration at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
