Members of the 55th Legislature of Liberia have through the office of Speaker, Richard Koon, extended warm congratulations to the National Assembly of La Côte d’Ivoire on the successful and smooth transition of its leadership, culminating in the election of Patrick Achi as Speaker.
The congratulatory massage praised the Ivorian Parliament for upholding democratic principles, and institutional stability throughout the transition process.
Koon also described the development as a testament to Côte d’Ivoire’s commitment to parliamentary democracy and good governance.
Speaker Koon also expressed profound appreciation to Adama Bictogo, President of the National Assembly of La Côte d’Ivoire, for his selfless leadership and statesmanship.
Koon further commended Pres. Bictogo’s instrumental role in strengthening regional parliamentary cooperation, particularly his efforts toward the formation and advancement of the Mano River Union (MRU) Parliament.
“The visionary leadership and dedication demonstrated by President Adama Bictogo have laid a solid foundation for deeper legislative collaboration among MRU member states,” Speaker Koon stated.
He assured that Bictofogo commitment to regional integration and parliamentary diplomacy will remain a lasting legacy.
Koon meanwhile, reaffirmed the Liberian Legislature commitment to work closely with their counterpart in La Côte d’Ivoire and other MRU member parliaments to promote peace, democracy, and socio-economic development in the sub-region.
