Konowroken Residents Decry Stalled Project

Residents of District #3 in River Gee County have become so frustrated for the slow progress of a community development project.

Representative Johnson S. Williams, commenced the project in 2017, but has remained unfinished in Konowroken City.

The project was launched to uplift living conditions in the area, but has since untouched, leaving community members without the promised improvements. Locals say, the delay has hampered economic activity and daily life in the city, particularly affecting farmers, who struggle to transport their produce to markets.

In the wake of the report, several residents urged Rep. Williams and relevant authorities to prioritize the project completion.

They noted that while the initiative raised initial hope for development, the lack of progress has left the community disappointed.

One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “We’ve been waiting for so long, our children are growing up without seeing any benefits from this project. We need answers.”

Community leaders have meanwhile, called for transparency on the project status, and a clear timeline to resume work.

They therefore want clarification on whether money was allotted for the project, and if so, were the funds utilized.

The community disappointment comes amid concerns about accountability and oversight in development projects in the county.
