Kolubah’s Expulsion Brouhaha Lingers:

Kenneh Denies Meetting Chief Justice

“I did not engage in any such discussions as Mr. Kolubah alleged during a podcast on Sunday, April 19. For that, I’m frustrated over repeated unsubstantiated claims my former colleague had made against me,” –Sekou Kanneh.

Montserrado County Electoral District #2 Representative, Sekou Kanneh, has denied claims that he held meetings with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and the Chief Justice, His Honor, Yarmie Quiqui Gbeisay, regarding the expulsion of Montserrado County Electoral District #10 Representative, Yekeh Y. Kolubah.

Kanneh spoke to reporters on Monday, April 20, at his Capitol Building office.

He clarified that at no time, “did I engage in any such discussions as alleged by Mr. Kolubah during a podcast on Sunday, April 19.”

Rep. Kanneh expressed frustration over “repeated unsubstantiated claims made by my former colleague.”

He said, such assertions are “misleading and lack any factual basis.”

Rep. Kanneh said, the burden of proof rests squarely on the accuser. He maintained that he has not met with either Pres. Boakai or the Chief Justice Gbeisay within the last five months.

He further disclosed how he was out of the country from January 19 to March 8, 2026, for personal reasons.”

Kanneh’s detail made the “meetings impossible.”

He said, his decision to respond publicly is rooted in his commitment to uphold integrity, and respect for the judiciary and to prevent the spread of misinformation.

Rep. Kanneh reiterated his refusal to give undue attention to “baseless accusations.”

He meanwhile, called on the media to hold individual accountable to the standard of proof in public discourse.

Yekeh Expelled

About 50 Lawmakers of the 55th Legislature, on Friday, April 17, signed a resolution, which expelled Yekeh Y. Kolubah.

The development followed a complaint Montserrado District #3 Representative Sumo K. Mulbah filed against him for “misconduct in office, violation of his oath of office, etc.
