In a drive to change the media dynamics, a new online media platform has been officially launched.
Reading the statement to mark the official launch of the new media entity, the Country Director of KRN-TV), Edwin Lamin Massaley, said the online platform will work to reshape the sector for the betterment of the society. According to him, KRN will endeavor to address social, educational, and spiritual needs throughout Liberia. “This platform, promises to be second to none and will among other things, provide contents that inform, inspire, and strengthen our community,” he added. He told the gathering that the platform plans to cover various sectors ranging from current news and cultural traditions to family values, parenting, choosing the right marital partner, raising God-centered children, and building strong, supportive relationships. The promotion of values that build up families and society is among key issues to be highlighted on the platform, he stated. “This platform will also serve as an educational resource, especially for students interested in pursuing the Information Technology (IT) field in Liberia,” Mr. Massaley noted. The platform will also sharpen the skills of young people interested in IT careers especially gaining knowledge in web development, graphic design, audiovisual technology, and artificial intelligence (also known as AI). He told the media that Mr. Alastair Hunte, its Technological Director in the United States, will provide videos on the platform with tips and training. Under his guidance, students will develop technical skills and leadership qualities, helping them prepare for future careers in the tech field, he indicated. At the same time , he stressed that the online TV page will become a valuable source of education, cultural enrichment, and career development, building a more connected and spiritually enriched Liberia. Speaking more about the Network, he noted that Kingdom Relationship Network was founded in 2016 by a visionary Liberian, Albertina Nyantee. Narrating the CEO’ s story, he said Madam Nyantee had a sad life where she experienced being in child forced labor during the Liberian civil war in 1990. However, she mustered the courage to use her story to inspire other by establishing the Kingdom Relationship Network with the mission of making sure that no child in Liberia would endure these types of child abuse. “Our mission is to eradicate child forced labor by implementing sustainable solutions while nurturing and empowering families to cultivate healthy, loving relationships rooted in God’s kingdom principles,” he added. Through education, advocacy, and community support, The KRN Country Director pointed out that they will strive to build a society where every child is cherished, and every family is a sanctuary of love and security. “While our vision is to create a world where every child is free from the chains of forced labor and exploitation and where families thrive in healthy, God-centered relationships guided by the principles of His kingdom,” he noted. On the decentralization stage, Mr. Massaley stated that they will visit regions across Liberia to assist authorities in rescuing abused children. “We aim to eliminate child forced labor and child abuse by providing safe shelters and helping children who have been rescued from forced labor and abuse and we also plan on creating safe spaces for children to heal, grow, and reclaim their innocence and happiness and foster values of love, compassion, and service to others in children centered on kingdom principles,” he added. As part of its contribution to the large society, KRN-TV has actively supported several communities in Liberia. In Brewerville, Montserrado County, KRN- he said, ran an orphanage from 2016 to 2021 for over 75 children, providing shelter, food, medical care, clothing, and primary education. At the same time, the entity, In 2023, conducted a baseline survey in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County, focusing on over 150 street children needing support. However, Mr. Massaley stated that with sufficient donor assistance, they plan to expand their interventions for more children. Moreover, In Malema Town, Klay District, Bomi County, the community generously donated 10 acres of land for the Kingdom Relationship Network’s future Children’s Village. He told the media that once developed, the Children’s Village will provide a safe space and an essential resource for underprivileged children in Liberia.” Additionally, in 2023, we launched a student sponsorship program, enrolling 100 children in school from kindergarten through sixth grade. With the support of donors in the United States, we have covered their tuition, school uniforms, shoes, book bags, and notebooks. These efforts are helping children whose families couldn’t afford these costs,” he further explained. In November of last year, as part of their technology initiative, KRN-TV hosted a one-day Technology Seminar for students exploring IT careers. Over 75 students participated and received certificates. The event, led by IT expert Mr. Alastair Hunte from the United States, inspired Liberian students to pursue careers in the tech field. “We also host a one-hour radio program called “The Kingdom Family Hour” on ELWA 94.5 FM, airing every Saturday from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. This weekly program covers parenting, choosing a marital partner, family values, raising God-centered children, and building healthy relationships”, he added. According to him, listeners from across the country find the program insightful and impactful for improving family and community life. He used the occasion to call on the public, government, private sector, NGOs, and other partners to join us in said regard. “We seek your support through donations, partnerships, and volunteer efforts to expand our reach and enhance our programs, together, with the support of our community, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of these children and continue to build strong family foundations with this new online platform and through our Kingdom Family Hour Radio Program”, he continued.
