Liberia Land Authority (LLA), has released listings of 88 individuals, who the Authority claimed are in “dubious land sales.”
The latest development came in the aftermath of confusions arising from illegal land sales and encroachments, some of which have resulted in free-for-all fist fights.
The 88 individuals in the “illegal land sales,” are mainly identified in Montserrado and Margibi counties.
Documents in the possession of this newspaper contained the listings, but warned: “Names of some notable land sellers in Montserrado and Margibi counties whom the public is advised to exercise precaution and due diligence in dealing with on land matters.”
The documents were recently updated under the signature of LLA’s management.
In Montserrado, for example, some of the “illegal land sellers” are identified as Matthew Suah Gbard, Varney Gray, Matthew Togar, Rocky Marshall, Theresa Merchant Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Addel Davis, and the Peabody Brothers.
Matthew Suah and few others, the document named, previously reside in the New Life Community in Johnsonville, Kpeh-Kpeh Town Community.
Sources informed this newspaper that some of them continue to “harass peaceful occupants, and or demand new customers to rebuy land sold to them by other administrators, but some of them have died.”
Others, according to the LLA’s circular are: Etta Davis, Solomon Williams and Family, Joe Lawrence, Joe Capehart, Julius Lomax Richard and Henry Morrias, etc.
In Margibi County, specifically, the Dwazohn/Schieffelin highway, the document named: Richard Smith senior and his Junior brother, residing in the Schieffelin Township.
Others identified include: Emmanuel Smith, Abraham Kpawor, the Kpain Town Administrators (John Smih, Jackson Gban, Whusay Wonkwell and Nyan Mose; residents; Schieffelin-Marshall Highway, among others.
Investigations into the alleged illegal land sales by the individuals identified in the document continue, according authorities at LLA.
