6 Inmates Escaped

In Barclayville, Grand Kru County, it has been reported that six inmates at the Police withholding cell have reportedly escaped from cell.
The situation, according to The Inprofile newspaper’s correspondent, has prompted local authorities at the Bureau of Corrections and Rehabilitation to launch a manhunt for those that escaped.
Police officers assigned in the county have, in collaboration with the locals also gone in search of the escaped detainees.
The incident reportedly happened early Sunday morning, July 6, 2025, in Barclayville, raising serious concerns about the risk it poses to the lives of the residents in the area.
Moses Alison, the Prison Superintendent at the Police station, has named one Edwin Louis, as one of those that was charged and detained with multiple charges, including burglary, theft of property and criminal conspiracy.
Police are said to have rearrested Louis.
The head of the Bureau of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Grand Kru Detachment, also named other escaped inmates as Koffa Sieh– charged with theft of property, Johnny Brown –charges included theft of property, armed robbery, and criminal conspiracy, William Warlah, charged with burglary, theft of property, and criminal conspiracy, Shardrick William, charged with burglary, theft of property, and criminal conspiracy, Jacob Weah, also charged with burglary and theft of property.
Mr. Alison informed journalists how embarrassing the situation was in the county.
He meanwhile, expressed grave concerns regarding the incident as he ensured the safety of the locals, adding: “Officers of the Liberia National Police, and the office of the Bureau of Corrections and Rehabilitation, will not leave no stone unturned in relocating the escaped inmates.
“We are leaving no stone unturned in our efforts to locate these individuals,” said Alison, as he outlined plans for increased patrols and cooperation with local law enforcers assigned in the county.
Moses Alison has launched a widespread manhunt in the county, while at the same time encouraging citizens to remain vigilant and report any findings of the escaped inmates.
