Car Kills Police Commander

A tragic collision that involved a motor vehicle and motorcycle on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, left Liberia National Police (LNP) Inspector Jacob Padmore dead. Padmore (deceased) served as Commander of Panta Administrative District in Bong County.

The accident occurred at Fareast Junction in Gbarnga, the capital city.

Bong County Police Chief of operations, Chris Gono informed journalists in the morning hours of Thursday, August 28, 2025, that Inspector Padmore was riding on his own motorbike returning from the Ganta to Gbarnga when he collided with a green pickup that was enroute from Monrovia.

Gono confirmed receiving a telephone call between 9 and 10 p.m. that fateful Wednesday informing him that there was a tragic accident at the Fareast Junction.

“I immediately dispatched the LNP Rapid Response Unit at the scene, but unfortunately, the vehicle operator had escaped the scene,” Gono said.

He lamented further that the Rapid Response Unit immediately rushed Inspector Jacob Pardmore to the CB Dunbar Comprehensive Hospital in Gbarnga, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead by the hospital authorities.

The operator of the vehicle involved in the fatal accident is yet to be located up to press time last night.

Over the past years, Fareast Junction has been a hotspot for tragic vehicle accidents which have resulted in the deaths of several individuals, including women and children

The corpse of the Jacob Padmore, is currently deposited at the CB Dunbar mortuary awaiting further arrangements.
