-Bishop Simpson Extols HMI’s 2024/2025 Graduates

The administrator and principal of Haywood Mission Institute (HMI), Bishop Leo M. Simpson, has described as ‘impressive’ the performance of 12th graders from his school that sat this year’s exams administered by the Monrovia office of the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

Haywood Mission students, according to the recent exam results released, made the passing marks categorized as ‘excellent.’

Bishop Simpson told newsmen at his Sinkor, Old Road Office on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, that the report was a “wonderful record of academic performance that will go in HMI’s archive as one of the best performances.”

He meanwhile, thanked teachers of all subjects for the job that was accomplished making the HMI to stand tall among many others institutions that came out with flying colors.

Simpson also expressed gratitude to parents and guidance, who he said, kept the feet of their children on “academic fire over the years in good and bad times, rain or shine, accepting this chapter of their educational journey even onto college.”

He thanked his administrative assistants, who made sure that the students were well attended to, and that the institution guideline was observed at all given times.

Bishop Simpson applauded all students in the country that sat the exams and made successful passes.

He meanwhile, thanked the God they serve for answering their prayers to remain focused on their educational sojourn as they  pursue higher education.

To the students, he added: “Somedays, some of you will benefit from your labor, therefore, remain focused as you journey to college level.”

The class sponsor, Titus Sayonkon, praised his students for their ‘classic performance,’ which came with satisfied results, adding: “this show that the HMI is one of the bests, if not the best among the rest of the schools.”

Sayonkon thanked Bishop Simpson for always encouraging the instructors to get better exams results at all times.

In a related development, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, a baccalaureate service was held on the main campus of the school.

The guest preacher, Reverend Adam M. Kyne, of the A.M. Kyne Collegiate Resource Center on 12th Street, Sinkor, spoke on the theme: “You May Hate, Walk In His Path,” with text taken from Jeremiah 29:11.

Kyne told the class that in keeping with God’s plan for mankind, the students will always prosper, because they are part of said plan.

He said it does not matter one’s background, family status, God’s plan does not pick and choose, rather made everybody to accomplish, especially in education.

“God knows the future, that His plans are good and full of hope concerning us. This is to bring us to the expected end, adding: “we can have boundless hope, it does not mean we will be spared of pain, suffering, or hardship while pursuing our various careers,” Kyne told the graduates.

Rev. Kyne, who is a Liberian preacher, is also an internationally acclaimed human rights advocate.

He became a global voice for education and justice, embodying resilience, faith and transformation.

He is currently senior advisor, and head of projects in the office of the First Lady, by extension office of president.

Kyne is an ordained Baptist Minister. He has served as senior pastor of Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church in Connecticut, and Pastoral studies from Zion Bible College in Rhode Island, a master in Divinity from Virginal Union University.

He holds Masters Degree in Social
