Impatience Breeds Vulnerability

------Journalist-turned Evangelist Declares

An experienced Liberian broadcast & print journalist -turned Evangelist, Jacob N.B. Parley, has disclosed that Christians who lack patience to wait for God’s time are likely to be used by the devil through hasty decisions that could lead them to hell. He said some of the hurriedly-taken decisions   by some impatient Christians include the disproportionate quest for wealth, political influence, job promotion and unreserved favor from policy makers.

Preaching recently at the Calvary Temple A.G. in Jacob Town Paynesville at the opening of a three-day fast & prayer, organized in commemorations of the 38th Anniversary of the Church, Evangelist Parley said impatience is one of the weapons used by the devil to entrap people.

Preaching on the theme:  Christianity “Without Faith Is Meaningless”, he told the congregation to realize that God has a unique plan for every human being created by Him-noting that the spiritually approved time for each person’s star to shine differs from individual to individual, and that the only person who has the power to bring such blessings to fruition is God.

Preaching further, Evangelist Parley said the last days have witnessed an uncontrollable quest for signs and wonders among some Christians to the extent that a lot of worshippers are being misled by some so-called modern days preachers whose actions are not far from commercializing the Gospel.

He said whenever people become so impatient to wait for God’s appointed time, they become desperate for solution- a situation that eventually drives them into false teachings and risky decisions for success.

He recalled that in Matthew 4:1-11, satan thought he could fool Jesus through temptation but he was disgracefully resisted by the Saviour.

Evangelist Parley said it was a complete irony that people would call themselves true believers and have no faith in God or believe that Jesus Christ is His only begotten son.

He cited a number of instances in Biblical history where faith was demonstrated to the extent that those who exercised faith in God   continue to be reflected and cherished today.

“Abraham demonstrated faith in God; Enoch also did, Sarah who had passed child-bearing age was able to bring forth a child, while the woman who had the issue of blood regained hope and dignity through faith when she fought her way through a huge crowd to touch the  garment of Jesus Christ,” the journalist-turned Evangelist said.

He also outlined several vices that have plagued the Liberian society as a result of many years of civil war.

Evangelist Jacob Parley named such inclinations as people spreading falsehood about their colleagues at working places to get them out, seeking unnecessary favor from policy makers through demonic practices instead looking up to God to work out things in their favor- adding that promotion comes from nowhere else but from above.

He warned that any promotion or favor obtained at the expense of other people’s hard-earned reputation will not stand because- in his words, God will always hear the cry of those who are humble, innocent and look up to Him to supply their needs and wants.

According to Evangelist Jacob Parley, another great thing about having faith, exercising patience and waiting for God’s time is that He gets even with those who deliberately ill-treat others, plot against them or use their so-called connections and authority to bring them down for political reasons.

He admonished believers to stop doubting God’s ability to bring down demonic altars that are erected from family backgrounds and public places to retire individual and national progress.

Evangelist Parley made a passionate appeal to the congregation to pray along with him in his endeavor to blend journalism with Evangelism- adding, “I aspire to not just be a preacher, but a Revolutionary Evangelist whose crusade will bring about mental transformation by promoting national healing, renewal and a better Liberian society in which truth will triumph over falsehood, hatred replaced with love & unity, as good overtakes evil, etc.

“My first word of thanks goes to God, followed by our Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. James Z. Kapel, our Santuary Pastor, Rev. William K. Hammerford, our Pastor on Prayers, Pastor Massa J. Dorley, amongst others, for affording me another opportunity to preach during a fast and prayer service at our Church,” Evangelist Parley added.
