Former President George Weah has returned to a rousing welcome from thousands of enthusiastic supporters.

Weah declared his renewed commitment to the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) and its long-awaited party headquarters.

“I’m back to ensure CDC gets its headquarters,” Weah told cheering crowds upon arrival.

Weah served as president from 2018 to 2024,.

He said his return is focused on party building and infrastructure, signaling a continued role in shaping the CDC’s future.

Supporters lined the streets in Monrovia to greet Weah, waving party flags and chanting slogans in a show of loyalty and anticipation. His return is seen as a boost for the CDC as it works to strengthen its organizational structure ahead of future political contests.

Weah’s announcement comes amid plans by party officials to commence construction of a permanent headquarters.
