“I Am Civil, Peaceful”

--- Peter Solo Denies Accusations

Following series of accusations of harassment, intimidation, death threats and land grab against him, the Director General of the National Lottery Authority, Peter Solo, has demanded his accuser, Cynthia Gbelia, to retract all accusations against him, principally, the claims that he has threatened her life, before further negotiation and possible resolution of the dispute.

Mr. Solo said he is a civil, peaceful and harmless man who believes in the rule of law with no violence history.

He emphasized that at no time has he ever threatened the life of Mrs. Gbelia or anyone, and therefore, the allegations are a calculated attempt to assassinate his hard-earned character and injure his reputation.

Madam Gbelia had earlier accused DG Solo of illegally possessing her parcel of land situated in the FDA Community, along the Mount Barclay road, claiming she purchased said land in 2010 and probated same in 2012.

But, after a period of back and forth with disagreements, and Mr. Solo’s firm reliance on evidence of his legitimate ownership of the land in question, Cynthia, along with some friends and relatives, reportedly visited the office of Mr. Solo on Thursday, January 15, 2026, to further negotiate resolution and settlement of the impasse.

Cynthia is seeking US$8,000.00 (Eight Thousand United States Dollars), while Mr. Solo insists on his proposal to offer only US$6,000.00 (Six Thousand United States Dollars), arguing that the land in question is his legitimate property he legally acquired (purchased) and as such, his offer of US$6,000.00 is only intended to show compassion and reach an amicable resolution.

Description of the land shows that DG Solo is on the right side of the Mount Barclay road and the piece of land that was sold to Cynthia Gbelia is on the left side, but a member of the family she bought from, had sold her property to another person, and when she alarmed, they went into a compromise and the individual promised to give her another parcel of land.

But, at that point, he (Solo) had already started developing his property by dumping over 180 loads of dirt, and had people working on his land, which made it impossible for Mrs. Gbelia’s dealer to carry out a clandestine survey on his land.

Under pressure from Cynthia, the seller copied the meters and bounds of the property they had sold to her and put it on his (Solo’s) property, thereby giving her the impression that Solo’s legitimate parcel of land belongs to her.

Mr. Solo termed Mrs. Gbelia’s claims as baseless and laughable because, she’s claiming two lots and his property which is entirely on the right side of the road, is more than two lots.

Cynthia was strangely given a controversial deed that erroneously and illegally lays claims on Solo’s legitimate property, but out of empathy for her as a widow, he indicated his willingness to either repurchase or compensate her reasonably to put the matter to rest.

However, after going back and forth with negotiations to agree on a reasonable amount to be given to her, she took the matter to the social media with a narrative that paints Mr. Solo as someone who’s using power and other means of influence to illegally possess her land.

During Madam Gbelia’s Thursday, January 15, 2026 meeting with DG Solo, with the intervention of some relatives and friends, Mr. Solo insisted that his character has already been harmed in the public, with a potential reputational damage, and therefore, further negotiation and possible settlement would only happen after what has been written about him in connection with the land dispute is retracted.

Negotiations over the matter remain halted and stalled, as Mrs. Gbelia is reportedly seeking the intervention of some higher-ups to apparently arm-twist Mr. Solo, an effort he vowed, will not succeed because the parcel of land in question is his legally acquired property, purchased with his hard-earned money, and no amount of character assassination and attempts to arm-twist would cause him to surrender.

DG Solo has maintained that Mrs. Gbelia retracts her accusations against him, takes delivery of the US$6,000.00 he’s offering, and the matter would be put to rest.
