House Refers J𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵 F𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The leadership of the House of Representatives has forwarded Bomi County Electoral District #3 Representative, Sam P. Jallah, to its Committee on Rules, Order and Administration for investigation.

Jallah’s investigation follows a formal complaint from fellow lawmakers.

The complaint stems from recent public remarks Jallah made concerning the just passed supplementary budget in which he was quoted as saying: “one person can just sit and sign the budget.” The statement has drawn concern among lawmakers on Capitol Hill, prompting calls for him to clarify and account for it.

During a leadership meeting held on Monday, April 27, Bong County Electoral District #3 Representative, J. Marvin Cole, proffered a motion when he requested that Rep. Jallah submit himself to the Committee on Rules, Order and Administration for a full investigation into the matter.

The motion was subsequently endorsed, paving the way for the Committee’s review.

According to the decision, the Committee will conduct its inquiry and report its findings and recommendations to Plenary for further legislative action.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Richard Nagbe Koon, has called on Jallah to fully cooperate with the Committee throughout the investigative process.

Koon emphasized the importance of upholding the integrity, decorum, and rules governing the House.

The committee is expected to carry out its investigation and report to plenary upon the resumption of session in May.

The action underscores the House’s commitment to maintain discipline and ensure that the conduct of its members reflects the standards expected of the Legislator.
