The House of Representative on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 received two separate bills from Nimba District # 9 Representative Taa Wongbe , seeking for legislative enactment  to establish the National Community and MSME Stimulus Act of 2025 and h the Liberia Future Generation Extractive Saving Fund Act of 2025.

Rep.  Wongbe, during submission of the bills, said the instruments submitted, if passed are geared toward seeking the empowerment of women across the country and to also promote intergenerational equity to save future generations.

He said the Liberia Future Generation Extractive Fund Bill, if passed, will require 10% from every mineral extracted revenue be saved in a protected national fund for future generations, aimed at promoting intergenerational equity and reducing exposure to commodity shock, while the National Community and MSME Stimulus Act of 2025 is proposing US$10 million in the 2026 national budget to directly support MEMEs, women grouping, farmers cooperatives across the 73 districts.

Rep. Wongbe said these bills are important to improving lives of ordinary Liberians; especially the future generations who, according  him, need to have some reserved benefits from the country’s natural resources that are currently being extracted without any impact.

He also maintained that if nothing is done to save for the next generations, they will be left with nothing when all of the resources have been extracted.

Meanwhile, plenary of the House of Representative mandated its Joint Committees on Judiciary, Ways, Means & Finance, Mines & Energy, Commerce, Banking & Currency to review the bills and report in two weeks.
