The Plenary of the House of Representatives has summoned the Minister of Health Dr. Louise Kpoto and the Director General of Civil Service Agency Mr. Josiah Joekai to appear before the august body on Tuesday, 10 September 2024 to give clarity on the pension of some health workers and provide information on the Healthcare system. The lawmaker’s decision was predicated on a communication from Rep. Musa Hassan Bility in which he complained about the non-replacement of some 12 health care personnel that was pensioned at the Saclepea Comprehensive Healthcare Facility in Electoral District 7 Nimba County. According to Hon. Bility who represents the District, this is causing serious hindrance in the delivery of Healthcare to his constituents and other surrounding areas. “It is important to emphasize that the Saclepea Comprehensive Healthcare Facility provides services to hundreds of patients in the district”. The lawmaker stated. He also recommended to his colleagues to mandate the CSA Boss temporarily suspend the pension of these healthcare workers until those pensioners can be replaced to avert the poor health services. After the reading and floor debate, the House Plenary voted to cite the Health Minister Dr. Kpoto, CSA Boss Joekai and affected institutions heads to appear next Tuesday, 9 September.
