GVL Clinics Shut Down In Sinoe -As LMDC Fines Each Clinic US15K

The Liberia Medical and Dental Council (LMDC) has ordered the immediate closure of Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) clinics located in Butaw, Tarjouwon, and Kpanyan Districts in Sinoe County, citing multiple violations of national health standards.

In an official statement Thursday, the LMDC revealed that the facilities were severely understaffed and operated in buildings that failed to meet the minimum requirements for medical infrastructure.

The Council also noted that the clinics had refused to comply with earlier directives issued by the regulatory body.

Further investigations uncovered critical lapses in hygiene and sanitation, including the absence of a proper waste management system.

The LMDC said the clinics were found to be unclean and untidy, posing significant health risks to both patients and staff.

As a result of these findings, the LMDC has imposed a fine of US$15,000 per clinic on GVL.

Additionally, the Council warned that any staff found working at the closed facilities after June 17, 2025, will face legal consequences.

The LMDC emphasized that all healthcare institutions must comply strictly with national regulations to safeguard public health.

Meanwhile, the GVL management said it will issue a response to the council’s actions.
