Officers of the Liberian National (LNP) assigned Grand Kru County have received a brand-new pickup from the government.
The donation is being widely appreciated as a landmark development with the aim to enhance law enforcement capability.
The gesture came after years of operating with minimal resources, significantly hampering police operations in the county.
The new pickup is to bolster police ability to respond to reports of crimes as well as maintain law and order in the county.
Grand Kru is being stereotyped as a “Grand Walking County” for it remote and challenging terrains.
The county police commander, Clement Barlatt, expressed gratitude to government and its partners for a “transformative gesture.”
Barlatt highlighted the critical need for reliable transportation for law enforcement officers in the county, given the vast geographical challenges, and the limited resources they have faced in recent years.
“Today marks a significant milestone for the Grand Kru Police Detachment. For far too long, we have struggled to effectively serve and protect our community because of the lacked of logistical support. This new pickup symbolizes the government’s commitment for law enforcement to combat crimes and ensure the safety of our citizens,” Barlatt said.
He meanwhile urged community members to collaborate with the police, emphasizing that effective policing requires the support and involvement of the entire community.
“We cannot do this alone. We need your help and cooperation to make the county a safer place for everyone.”
