Grace Kpan Arrested For ‘Criminal Mischief’

Former Montserrado County Superintendent Grace Kpan has been forwarded to the Monrovia City Court on a charge: “Criminal Mischief” following the alleged distortion of properties worth US$241,450.

Liberian law puts criminal mischief as the intentional or recklessly damaging, destruction or defacing of someone else’s property without their permission. It is a crime and the severity of the charge can depend on the extent of the damage and the state laws.

Madam Kpan, a former Liberian National Union (LINU) vice standard -bearer, was arrested and spent hours on the criminal defendant bench after been complained by Benson Kun and others for destroying their houses in the Tweh Farm Community.

The complaint, under oath, alleged that on Saturday, April 12, 2025, Madam Kpan reportedly brought yellow machine operators that destroyed their houses. One of the houses cost US$83,795 and another US$157, 655, totaling US$241,450.

Madam Kpan was the running mate to LINU standard bearer during the 2023 general and presidential elections, having served as superintendent for Montserrado County from 2006 up to 2017.
