The Grand Kru County School System (GKCSS), has announced the full employment of 109 teachers.

The ‘newly’ employed teachers have been in the teaching field for several years under the name: Voluntary Teachers (VTs).

Until their recent employment, the VTs were assigned at various schools in the county.

Meanwhile, government has confirmed at least 109 of the VTs on the national payroll for the months of October and November, 2025.

This development marks a major boost to the county educational sector.

The disclosure was made by GKCSS through its leadership, highlighting a significant stride in reducing the long-standing reliance on the VTs to impact knowledge to the students.

Josiah Sloh Negba said, the move demonstrates government’s commitment to improve education in the county.

“We are pleased to disclose that 109 of our VTs have been placed on government’s payroll. This achievement reflects government seriousness in addressing the gaps within our school system.”

Negba meanwhile, extended appreciation to the District Education Officers, the Human Resource Officer, and other administrative staff for their coordination throughout the process.

He added: “Their teamwork ensured a smooth and transparent process.”

Negba also thanked the Ministry of Education (MoE) for its continued support in strengthening the instructional workforce in Grand Kru.

“We are grateful to the MoE for narrowing the gaps created by the influx of the VTs. This step is a relief to both educators and students.”

Negba further praised the Grand Kru County Administration and the Grand Kru County Legislative Caucus for their consistent cooperation since he assumed leadership as Education Officer.

He expressed confidence that Grand Kru County educational landscape will continue to improve with sustained partnership and commitment from all stakeholders.
