The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP), has kicked off a week-long nationwide monitoring and evaluation (M&E) exercise covering all 15 counties.
The initiative, which began this week, according to a release, aims at verifying the accuracy of progress previously reported during desk reviews by assessing actual implementation of projects, identify gaps and compare reported data with real-time findings, and produce a comprehensive monitoring report.
The joint exercise is being conducted in Bomi, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Lofa, Nimba, Bong, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, Grand Kru, River Gee, Maryland and Montserrado counties.
Representatives from the Ministry of Public Works, and other key institutions, are part of the team.
Team lead, Eric Tamba Jusu, reaffirmed government’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and results-driven governance under the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
“This joint monitoring exercise is intended to provide an objective assessment of activities implemented during the reporting period,” Jusu said.
“We are here to document lessons learned that will inform future programs and projects.”
He said, the assessment will generate reliable performance information to strengthen public sector management, improve service delivery, and ensure projects remain on track to achieve their intended outcomes.
Other members of the monitoring team include Robert T. D. Gbargee, Project Analyst; Ms. Delphine Payma, Director of Planning and Research at the Ministry of Public Works; Mrs. Winnie M. Sakor-Dilah; Borfelt Lloyd, Deputy Director General for Operations at the Liberia Broadcasting System; and Charles M. Carr, Jr., Senior Communication Specialist.
The team is expected to present a detailed report highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for improving future project implementations.
