LDEA officers, acting on a search warrant issued by the Robertsport Magisterial Court, conducted a ‘targeted operation’ at the suspect’s residence.
During the search, law enforcement officers discovered 19 compressed plates of marijuana concealed in the suspect’s kitchen.
The seized narcotics have an estimated street value of US$1,200, equivalent to L$ 228,000.
Following a preliminary investigation, suspect Grace Kuasi has been formally charged with illegal possession of narcotics under Liberia’s newly amended drug law, and forwarded to the Robertsport Magisterial Court for prosecution.
Arrest of a female Kenyan
In a related development, the agency said, it has arrested additional suspect linked to US$388,889 drug trafficking case involving a female Kenyan and Liberian national.
The arrest, LDEA termed as a “significant breakthrough in a major international drug trafficking case by arresting an additional suspect linked to a February 1, 2025, incident involving a female Kenyan and Liberian national.
On Saturday, June 14, 2025, LDEA officers apprehended Prince Okeke, also known as Emmanuel Cmbah, a Nigerian national residing on Ruth Perry Road in Paynesville. Okeke is currently undergoing investigation.
His arrest stems from ongoing investigations involving two previously detained suspects: Arondo L. Bonancy, a Kenyan national, and Abel S. Gbedia, a Liberian. On February 1, 2025, Bonancy was intercepted at Roberts International Airport (RIA) during a routine security search after the suspect arrived on Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET-933 from Thailand. She was found in possession of 8.642 kilograms of heroin, valued at US$388,890.
According to a statement from Gbedia, a taxi driver implicated in the case, “was hired solely to pick up Bonancy at the airport and was issued a visa for the purpose.”
The suspect testimony led to the surveillance and eventual arrest of Okeke, who was apprehended based on mounting evidence linking him to the trafficking network.
In her earlier statement to investigators, Bonancy alleged that a man known only as “Alex,” whom she met during transit in Thailand, convinced her to carry what she believed was a canopy. She claimed she was unaware that the package contained narcotics. These claims were previously disclosed at a February 2025 press conference.
Both Bonancy and Gbedia were formally investigated, charged and indicted following thorough investigations. They are currently in pre-trial detention as legal proceedings continue.
Upon the arrest of Okeke, LDEA Director, Anthony K. Souh, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to ensuring that all individuals involved in the trafficking operation are brought to justice.
In a latest development, the agency Grand Cape Mount County detachment has arrested female suspect.

LDEA officers arrested suspect Fatu around 4:30 p.m. on June 12, 2025. She’s a Liberian and resident of the Up-Town Community in Robertsport City.
The arrest was carried out following executing a search and seizure warrant issued by the Magisterial Court in the city.
