Grand Kru County Gender Coordinator, Regina Walker, has raised concern about a reported case of sodomy, which involved two minors in the county.

In her emotional message posted on her official Facebook page on Friday afternoon, February 27, 2026, Madam Walker, described the incident as “deeply troubling.”

She noted the situation is “so strange to the county, because Grand Kru is known for its strong traditional values. It has never experienced such alarming cases involving children sex abuse.”

“Today, in the line of my duty as County Gender Coordinator, my heart really bled when I received the report. Whenever I met with colleagues, I would confidently say that Grand Kru had not reached that level when it comes to rape and other related gender-related offenses. But now, I am truly out of words.” In the preliminary information, both minors were sodomized.

Reports suggested that exposure to pornographic content may have influenced the act; a situation, Madam Walker described as a “wake-up call for parents and guardians in the county.”

“The worst part is that they are minors. Their inspiration reportedly came from watching pornographic movies. The victims need our support, not condemnation.”

Madam Walker called for the need to collectively counsel and guide the children.

She also called for increased parental vigilance regarding digital content stored on mobile phones. “For the adults, please be mindful of what you download and keep on your phones. Children love to watch movies on them. Let us take responsibility.”

Madam Walker further disclosed that Grand Kru currently lacks a designated safe home to temporarily accommodate and rehabilitate vulnerable children in abuse-related cases; a gap she described as “urgent and concerning.”

She also commended parents, who courageously reported the sodomy incident to police, which was a vital step to obtain justice and child protection.

“I appreciate the parent, who was brave enough to bring this to the attention of the police. That is how we protect our children.”

Authorities are reportedly investigating the matter, as child protection advocates continue to stress the importance of community awareness, parental supervision, and early intervention.

Madam Walker has meanwhile, called for unity, and for locals to work together to ensure that such incident becomes the “first and the last” of its kind in the county.
