Gbeapo Health Center Gets

X-Ray Machine, Other Items

To boost healthcare delivery in the Southeast, the Ministry of Health (MoH) Diagnostic Unit, has donated medical equipment and solar power systems to the Gbeapo Comprehensive Health Center.

Some of the items donated are the new X-ray machine, two blood bank refrigerators, and dedicated solar panels to keep the equipment running without interruption.

The move came following an assessment by MoH Diagnostic Unit.

The Unit discovered that the facility lacked modern diagnostic tools, and reliable electricity needed for lifesaving.

With the new equipment in place, the health center can now diagnose and treat patients more effectively, especially in emergencies.

The blood bank refrigerators will allow safe storage of blood in case of surgeries, maternal care, and other interventions.

The X-ray machine will help doctors identify fractures, internal injuries, and other conditions on site, cutting patients travel distances to do the procedure.

To solve the long-standing power problem, the Ministry installed solar panels, dedicated to power the new machines.

Officials say, the solar support should ensure the equipment stays operational “even in areas with unstable electricity.”

The Health Center administrator, Henry W. The, called the donation a breakthrough for the district.

“This intervention will improve the quality of healthcare services we provide to our people. Patients who previously had to travel outside the county for certain diagnostic procedures can now receive those services right here at home.”

Teh thanked the Ministry for the timely support, and pledged to maintain the equipment and use it responsibly.

County health officials noted that the donation reflects government’s push to decentralize quality healthcare and expand access in rural and underserved communities.
