There’s an air of grief and sorrow spinning across the length of breadth of Gbao Chiefdom located in District #7 Nimba County, as a result of the untimely demise of the youth leader, Moses Mantein. This sad event which occurred on June 10, 2025 in Monrovia has  left a big vacuum in the Chiefdom.

The late Gbao Progressive Gbao Youth Development Association President who led the organization for a lengthy period did prove to be a leader per excellence. Many are describing his death as a blow to the Chiefdom, given his marked loyalty and love for the Chiefdom as well as the nation as a whole.

He stood his ground progressively to ensure that the Chiefdom was represented at any or all Nimba gatherings. Although he’s no more as the unstoppable death has snatched him away, his name and deeds shall remain indelible as far as the anal of Gbao history is concerned.

His death is compared to the fall of a giant tree in the forest thereby reducing, not only the beauty but the strength of the forest. In other words, his untimely departure has left cavity on the wall of the Chiefdom as his peacekeeping role, his patience to remain standing in the gap during bitter time cannot be overemphasized.

He was very strategic and unwavering in leading the people of Gbao Chiefdom to vote for the Unity Party which now sits in the nation’s political throne.

His fight to see a developmentally transitioned Gbao Chiefdom and a united Gbao people where peace and love will take precedent certainly remains on the agenda to be effectuated by his successor. He had loved to see more prominent Gbao citizens in government positions. He had hoped to see Gbao Chiefdom beaming under the light of modernity.
