The principal of Garmu Public, over the weekend confirmed the deplorable state of the school to reporters during a tour.

Meanwhile, Mr. Moses Flomokoryah, has called for urgent support. He also committed his administration to improve the learning environment.

The Garmu Public School is one of Panta District’s most important learning institutions.

Mr. Flomokoryah has made a strong public appeal for urgent intervention as his administration highlighted challenges affecting its academic operations.

Flomokoryah said the school remains committed to deliver quality education in spite of the difficult situation it has to endure.

He said the school current structural condition has become a major concern for both students and community members.

“The deteriorating state of the building has created a discouraging learning environment, causing some residents to mistakenly assume that academic standards have dropped.”

Flomokoryah said this perception does not reflect the dedication of teachers and students, who continue to push for excellence.

He counted pressing infrastructural problems, including broken doors and windows, damaged ceiling tiles, and the shortage of desks.

These issues, Mr. Flomokoryah said, has left the building vulnerable to intruders after school hours, an exposure he described as “deeply troubling and a total embarrassment for an institution that serves hundreds of children.”

Beyond the infrastructure, Mr. Flomokoryah highlighted the shortage of assigned qualified teachers.

“Garmu Public School operates with 16 teachers, but eight of them are volunteers.

Mr. Flomokoryah has called on government to prioritize the school by addressing the challenges.

Despite the obstacles, Mr. Flomokorya expressed appreciation to the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) for their “unwavering commitment to the school.”
