Former Bong County Electoral District #5 Representative, Edward Karfiah, has pledged a contribution of One Thousand United States Dollars (US$1,000) to support the completion of the Christ Renewal Connecting Church building in Gbarnga.
The pledge was announced during the church’s annual conference held in the Bong County capital, where members and leaders gathered to discuss ongoing activities and the progress of the church construction project.
During the event, church leaders also called on supporters and well-meaning citizens to help raise funds needed to complete the structure.
Speaking on behalf of the former lawmaker, his aide, Martin Fofana, disclosed that Mr. Karfiah made the commitment after learning about the challenges the church is facing in completing its building.
Mr. Fofana told the gathering that Karfiah remains passionate about supporting religious institutions and community-based initiatives throughout Bong County.
He explained that the former Representative believes churches play a critical role in shaping society by promoting moral discipline, peace, and unity among citizens.
According to him, Karfiah’s gesture is part of his longstanding tradition of assisting churches and community organizations whenever the need arises.
He emphasized that the former lawmaker does not limit his support to election periods but instead believes in continuously serving the people.
“Hon. Karfiah has always believed that service to the community should not be seasonal,” Mr. Fofana said. “He supports initiatives that uplift communities whether there is an election or not.”
Mr. Fofana also assured members of the Christ Renewal Connecting Church that Karfiah remains committed to the development of Bong County and will continue to support programs that positively impact the lives of residents.
Church leaders expressed appreciation for the former Representative’s pledge, describing the contribution as a significant step toward completing the church building.
They noted that the project, once finished, will provide a permanent place of worship and serve as a center for spiritual and community activities in Gbarnga.
The church leadership meanwhile called on other citizens and leaders to emulate the gesture by contributing toward the completion of the project.
