Liberia Airport Authority Announces Systemwide Review and Upgrade of Access Controls for Security-Restricted Areas

Monrovia, Liberia,  February 10, 2026 – The Liberia Airport Authority (LAA) has announced the immediate revocation of all existing Security Restricted Area (SRA) access credentials currently in circulation at Roberts International Airport and other LAA-managed facilities.

This action is part of a comprehensive review of personnel access to secure airport areas and the planned introduction of a new access control system designed to enhance safety, accountability, and operational efficiency.

The review and implementation process will take place from February 10 through February 25, 2026. During this period, all individuals who require access to security-restricted areas must reapply through the Office of the Managing Director, LAA.

Temporary Access Arrangements:

To ensure continuity of airport operations during the review period, the following temporary measures will be implemented:

  • Individuals requiring access to restricted areas will be escorted by authorized security personnel.
  • Personnel directly involved in airside and critical airport operations will be granted temporary access, subject to security clearance and operational need.

The Liberia Airport Authority acknowledges that this process may cause temporary inconvenience and thanks airport users, partners, and personnel for their cooperation as these important security improvements are carried out.
