The weekend of May 15, 2026, came with it showers of blessings, honor and recognition for Richard Matenokay Tingban.
Tingban is the current Minister of Mines, Lands and Energy. He is the son of the well reverend Paramount Chief, Willie Beh Tingban (deceased).
Mr. Tingban previously served as Nimba County District #9 Representative.
While closely collaborating with the office of Vice President, Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Tingban has undertaken the construction of roads leading to Mehnla, Nyonkiayee, Zahn Goala, Glehyee Zorpea, Laintoin, Garr, Guotoin, Buotoin, Zekepa, Sendin and Kporwin towns, all in District #9.
The projects are in fulfilment of the Rescue Agenda of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai-led government.
The honor and appreciation program were hosted by the townspeople of Nyonkiayee.
The event was organized by D-Max Leboe, who is a childhood friend of Mr. Tingban. Leboe resides in the United States of America, but back home visiting.
Marked by traditional dances, cultural performances and musical extravaganza, Tingban received one of the highest honors for “prioritizing the people’s wellbeing through attracting developmental initiatives to improve the inhabitants’ living conditions.”
Chief and elders gowned Mr. Tingban and gifted him with two giant-sized cows.
At ceremonies in Nyonkiayee Town, Yarmin Mensonnoh administrative district, Leboe recalled his boyhood days with Tingban, which he said, it was promising that the two friends had “excellent upbringings.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Leboe has commended Minister Tingban for “catering to the needs of his people while serving as the director of Mines, and Acting Assistant Minister for Mines, District Representative at the Legislature, and now the Minister of Mines and Energy.”
Leboe encouraged other sons and daughters of Yarwin Mensonnoh to join hands with him and Mr. Tingban to scale up development in their “ancestral land.”
Among other pleasantries exchanged, the elders wished him well in his service to country, and said prayers for God to continuously increase his wisdom and protect him on the job.
Tingban thanked God for the blessings He has bestowed upon him and his family.
He assured that there should be nowhere called an interior that restricts people from accessing basic social services available in the urban areas.
Tingban then called on his fellow officials to be good ambassadors and vice jurors of the presidency.
