A tragic accident occurred around 3:45 PM on November 22, 2025, when a blue Liberia National Police pickup, marked with license plate 249, collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two people.
Eyewitnesses report that the police vehicle was traveling ahead of the presidential advance team, clearing the route before the main convoy arrived. As the pickup descended a hill and approached a curve, it came upon a jeep that had already pulled over to allow the escort to pass.
At that moment, a motorcyclist transporting a female passenger, along with two containers of oil, attempted to overtake the stopped jeep on the curve. The motorcycle reportedly crossed into the path of the oncoming police pickup, leading to a violent collision. Both the rider and his passenger were allegedly killed instantly.
Witnesses emphasized that the vehicle involved was not the President’s immediate escort, but the advance unit responsible for clearing traffic ahead of the full motorcade.
The Liberia National Police has yet to release an official statement on the incident.
