Former Grand Gedeh Superintendent Peter Solo Supporters of former Grand Gedeh County Superintendent, Kai G. Farley, have reportedly found out that former Grand Gedeh Superintendent Peter Solo’s Public Relations Officer has embarked on a smear campaign against Mr. Farley. Against this backdrop, Mr. Farley’s supporters have sharply reacted to a Facebook post made by former Grand Gedeh Superintendent Solo’s Public Relations Officer- Gee Kai Title: ” General’s Downfall: Spreading False Information these claims are sponsored by Kai Farley and supporters.” The group, in its press statement issued on Thursday, February 20, 2025, said it is saddened to have read such a post coming from what it called an ‘‘unprofessional and misguided young man’’ who has taken onto social media, a propaganda fight for his boss against the person of the former Grand Gedeh Superintendent Farley, who administratively and professionally handled the affairs of the county that brought relief to the citizens of Grand Gedeh following Mr. Solo’s ‘‘failed administration marked by corruption, greed, and conflict of interest.’’ The spokesman of the group, Samuel Wallace, noted that the turnover note presented by former Superintendent Solo to former Superintendent Farley in 2018 was in contradictions to physical assets verified, which did not reflect a fair time of service to the county. He asserted that there were financial improprieties, mismanagement of funds allocated by national government, donors, and development partners, which were not accounted for by Mr. Solo in accordance with the public financial management laws of Liberia. In a strongly worded statement, the spokesman narrated that former Superintendent Solo did all he could through elders, town chiefs and other prominent citizens to plead on his behalf to avoid him not to account for his stewardship, but such move, the group’s spokesman indicated, wouldn’t help him-Mr. Solo because all appointed officials must be made to account for their stewardship. He alleged that Mr. Solo lacks credibility as he had confided in his friends that he is currently soliciting Five Thousand United States Dollars (US$5,000.000) for his appointment in the Boakai-Koung Administration as Deputy for Administration at the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA). It can be recalled that several years ago, 19 Grand Gedians were arrested and jailed during Mr. Solo’s Administration for standing up against his authority to sell equipment that belonged to their county. Needless to say, the Executive was briefed and Mr. Solo was quietly relieved of his duties as Superintendent of Grand Gedeh County. Meanwhile, the group has cautiously warned Mr. Solo and cronies to focus on accounting for their roles; rather than using propaganda and lies against the high earned reputation of Mr. Farley, who the group said served his country with pride and dignity.
