Roberts street, Monrovia-Liberia:
I recently visited Family Porch, somewhere off a quiet street that flanks Benson and Carey Streets and it was a wonderful experience. I call it my Robert Street experience.
From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the calm and friendly atmosphere.
Sitting Place & Environment
The seating is comfortable, with enough space to relax. The lights are soft and warm, and the room feels clean and peaceful. Soft music plays in the background, making it a nice place to enjoy a meal.
Waitress & Service
The waitress was very kind and helpful. She guided me through the menu and made sure I had everything I needed. Her friendly smile made the experience even better. Although the service was a bit delayed, it came with a touch of Liberianness that made the wait worthwhile.
The Food
I ordered Liberian attiéké with grilled fish. It took about thirty minutes to arrive, but it was worth the wait. The attiéké was light and soft with a slightly tangy taste, and the grilled fish was crispy on the outside and tender inside. Every bite was full of flavor, and it felt like a true taste of Liberia.
Atmosphere & Vibe
Family Porch is a place where you can feel relaxed and enjoy your meal. The music, lights, and smells create a warm and pleasant environment.
Recommendations:
I highly recommend the Liberian attiéké with grilled fish. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly, and the restaurant is comfortable. It’s a great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends.
Overall, my visit to Family Porch was memorable, and I would definitely go back. Granted, there are improvements to be made on service delivery, interaction with customers and wait time. All in all, I give the Family Porch Two and a Half Spoons for this visit.
