The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Richard Nagbe Koon, has described as false and misleading recent allegations made by Montserrado County Electoral District #9 Representative, Hon. Frank Saah Foko Jr., claiming that the yellow machines brought into the country are all used and cannot be operated.
Speaker Koon made the clarification following Rep. Saah Foko recent disclosure in an interview with legislative reporters.
He maintained that there has been no conversation with Hon. Foko regarding the yellow machines, contrary to claims suggesting otherwise.
The Speaker further emphasized that members of the House of Representatives have welcomed and appreciated the initiative of the President to procure the yellow machines intended to support road development across the country.
He noted that this appreciation was publicly demonstrated when lawmakers visited the Executive Mansion, the seat of the presidency, where individual members of the Legislature expressed gratitude to the Liberian leader for the initiative.
According to him, the yellow machines are expected to play a critical role in improving road connectivity and accelerating development in communities across Liberia, including districts represented by members of the Legislature.
The Speaker called on Representative Foko to remain focused on working in the interest of his constituents, emphasizing that the deployment of the machines will help facilitate road construction and development projects in District #9 and other parts of the country.
Speaker Koon reaffirmed the Legislature’s commitment to supporting national development initiatives that will improve the living conditions of the Liberian people.
