Face Africa has officially launched a water tower system and sanitation project in Pleebo Sodoken District, Maryland County.
This initiative, when completed is expected to bring safe drinking water, and improved hygiene to five strategic towns.
They beneficiary towns include: Old Sodoken, Gbololu, Gboloken, Wechoken, and Sidiken.
The project marks a significant shift for communities that have long relied on creeks for drinking water and practiced open defecation.
Representative Anthony F. Williams underscored the importance of the project.
He added: “This project is for our communities. Let’s work together; keep it safe and clean.”
The six-week project will involve the construction of a water tower and install sanitation facilities.
The project senior engineer, John Agray said, the initiative will focus on clean water supply and install sanitation facilities.
Residents remain hopeful for an end to long-standing water and sanitation challenges.
The project is expected to improve public health, environmental conditions, and the overall quality.
